MGM Mirage has recently announced plans to expand its brand into Egypt. MGM Mirage will partner with New Giza for Real Estate Development - to develop the MGM Grand New Giza. The 550-room casino is expected top open in 2013 and will provide spectacular views of both Cairo and the Great pyramids of Giza. The new Casino and hotel will be located in New Giza, a large master-planned community near Egypt’s Great Pyramids. The community offers luxury housing, 3 resorts, a world-class golf course, luxury shopping, internationally acclaimed restaurants, and more.
Gamal Aziz, president and CEO of MGM Mirage Hospitality, said in a
statement. “Our partners share our focus on luxury, excellence,
customer-oriented design and unparalleled service. Together with this
spectacular location, this new resort will quickly become a tourism and
conference destination that is both in high demand and fully reflective
of the MGM Grand brand.”
This isn’t the first MGM Casino planned for the Middle East, and it probably won’t be the last. Last month MGM Mirage announced a partnership with Pearl Dubai FZ - a developer of luxury resorts in Dubai - to oversee and manage three MGM-Branded hotels in Dubai, and signed another deal earlier this year to build a casino in Abu Dhabi.
