Do you read or buy books to improve your gaming strategies. In the same way we want to learn more about golf, gardening and all those famous “ten ways to improve .... stuffs”.

Nah. I just keep playing. If you keep playing and see what others are doing, that’s the only way that I can learn. I don’t buy those books because I think they’re just a waste of money.

I have read books to help build up certain techniques but as the old saying goes ‘Practice makes perfect’

I have read some books and articles about strategy but find it difficult to reconcile in my mind.  It’s easier for me to learn while playing than anything else.  I tend to learn best by doing in anything so it’s not surprising that it follows the same pattern when it comes to gambling.

Only once in a while to get techniques and a few good tips now and then, but I agree with Thurax on the whole ‘practice makes perfect’ thing.

I’ve tried it and some times what I’ve learned helps me, but it’s merely just tips that I get from it, so, I guess it’s a 50/50 thing.

Never tried them, but by the looks of this thread, they’re not really worth it.

Experience for me seems to work better in the end, I tend to remember easier. I have read some blogs and websites but never purchased a book for it.

I have to say that I have never read a book about gambling before. Do people really get tips from reading them or would it be best to just get experience by playing the game for real?

I’ve read a couple of them but I don’t think it has helped me be a better player. I think that all comes with experience and can’t be taught in a book. I’m sure it may be helpful for some people but I think you can learn more from taking a class.

I agree I think the best way to learn is to play the game for yourself. I’m not sure the books can teach you everything about the game or to how to handle yourself.

I do read some of them mostly to get the authors’ view on some games. But I don’t take it hook, line and sinker.

Yeah! I have bought a few books but those are just to revise my already learned strategies. I have formulated my own success potion by trials.

I have a few and I read a couple, and I’ve learned some tips, but there’s really nothing like just hopping in there and doing it yourself instead of reading. You also should practice it as well, too.

I’ve never read any. I figured all the information I’d need to know would be on the internet or something so I never bothered picking up a book like that. They all sound scammish anyway. raspberry And who needs a book when you have a bunch of experienced memebers on a board like this?
