Not really a casino game - more like a card game to play with buddies when you’re bored.
Pretty much, you need 4 people. You sit across from your partner and everyone is dealed 4 cards. The object is to get 4 4’s, 4 Queens, ETC.
When everyone is ready, you draw four cards and lay them down on the table. As soon as the last one is placed, you throw down a card and pick up another. You do this for as long as everyone wants till no one else makes a move. You discard those cards and then draw four more. Repeat.
If you get 4 of your card, it’s up to your partner to call it. However, you cannot verbally tell them that you have ‘Kemps.” You have to signal non-verbally to them what it is, whether it’s shifting your leg or scratching your nose. When they see your signal, they yell kemps. If you have it, good job! Your team just won!
However, the other team can rain on your parade. If they see you doing a signal, they can yell cancel, meaning that if you have kemps and you were just trying to signal your partner, you loose. If you do not have kemps and neither does your partner, the game continues.
Believe me, it’s great fun to sit down and play and I encourage anyone to give this a try.
