Has anyone else ever won a huge pot by faking your own tells? I spend a couple of hands making sure they can see a little sideways smile when I have a good hand. Then when I have absolutely nothing I’ll give the same smile, bluff and win the pot. It never fails! LOL!

I’ve done it, and I must say, I’ve done it rather well. smile It great, because you get people on edge and they don’t know whether you have a good hand or not.

LOL I love it. This is a great tactic. I wonder if I can keep a straight face well enough to do this. I’m gonna have to try it I think. Thanks for the giggle.

I’m really bad at hiding my tells when we play with our friends. No matter what I do they can pick up on me real fast. I’m working on it so maybe I can try your tactic and see if that can help me out.

Part of learning the game is learning how to read people. If you are constantly changing and confusing your opponent then why not? It might work to your advantage.

They say that you can practice in a mirror but I have found this a little hard seeing as I can not keep a straight face with myself. I know this is also practiced when people go into the retail/marketing world since they need to look “normal” when talking someone into buying something they really don’t need. :D

You’re right about sales people being taught certain body language mannerisms to win a sale. It makes peple trust them even when they don’t know why they’re trusting a complete stranger.

This is an important talent most people lack. Mostly people are pretty predictable and hence they loose 50% of games because of it.

Most of the seasoned gamblers are aware of this strategy. They would catch you in no time. Once you win on loose cards, they would test you every time from there on.

I pretty much agree. Faking your own tells might win you a couple of games but seasoned gamblers are aware of this silly strategy. So use it only once in a while!

I’m a bit embarassed because I have such obvious tells as it is. My face gets red and stuff so I can’t really do much hiding there! I’m terrible with stuff like that. But I’m still starting so maybe I’ll fidget less in the future.

It happens to every one pal! Don’t worry just keep on playing. Try to be steady. If you are in funny mood, keep on cracking jokes throughout the game or else you would be caught easily.
