What is your preference?  While I have done my share of online gaming, I still find live games to be much more satisfying.  As more of a hobbyist gamer, I have to say that I haven’t studied the why’s and wherefores and howtos of the game as much as I would like, but I have definitely noticed that I do much better in live games than in any kind of online games.  I have to play live poker, it makes no sense (for me) to play it online.  I really do watch other people and study their actions/reactions.  Sometimes it doesn’t seem to matter at all what I have in my hands.  I am better at winning, when playing with people face to face, than when playing online.  Online, I just lose and lose and lose.  I guess what I need to be learning are the card strategies themselves.  I think I’m good at reading people for the most part and knowing when to push or hold back.  That’s my reasoning for preferring live games over online ones.

What do you think?

There is simply no way to compare to the real thing.  If you play online there is nothing wrong with that but if you want the real experience take a day to get down to a casino.  I think that the atmosphere is worth the drive in most all cases.

I’ve done both and I have to say that going to the casino is just a pleasant break. It allows me to get out of the house and allows me to hang out with friends while having a good time. We hit up the restaurant on location and then head to the casino floor. There’s nothing that compares with that.

So it’s the atmosphere at the casinos that puts live casinos out in front!  I know some of the benefits of online casinos are, you can play in your underwear, in the peacefulness of your home, but while that might be a bonus for some, for me, it’s a distraction.  The dog needs food, needs let out, I haven’t mowed the yard (and am reminded of that fact!!)  So, I guess both online and live casinos have their pros and cons.

I haven’t really done much in the way of online gambling as of yet but I really want to give it more of a shot.  I love going to the casinos though.  There you get the whole experience and it is so much more than strictly the gambling.  Great food and entertainment add so much to the enjoyment of the occasion.  I think I would miss the excitement of the other players while gambling online, too.

It is really different when playing live casino. For me my chances of winning is better simply because I could easily spot a table that is on payout roll. Tables people shouting and enjoying themselves are usually the payout tables. But don’t hang around on that table long enough, it will surely catch you on the rebound.

I prefer online casino, its more private. My concentration is more focus to my betting procedures than live casino. there are times though I would drop by and play.

That is an excellent point.  I was just reading last night about different blackjack strategies and can completely see why you’d need the kind of private focus to concentrate on your game.  I’m glad that I joined smarter gamblers because I am already seeing ways in which my game is going to improve!

I still like the idea of getting dressed up and going out to the place, something about it just seems to end up being a little more fun that only online. I did get to play a little when I was in London but not nearly enough to get a real feel for it.

You’re right crapshoot77. I get a few distractions, mainly from home, when playing casinos online. Such as the situation you mentioned, the dog needs food, needs let out, I haven’t cooked food for lunch, and even the laundry has been abandoned. I’ve been playing online casinos for a long time, and I can’t wait to play in a live casino someday.

I prefer casinos. I guess I like the atmosphere and it’s fun to go with a group of friends. I find online gaming to be a little lonely and a bit depressing - especially if you’re on a losing streak.

I prefer the casino for pretty much the same reasons LuckyMe said. However, online casinos are nice if you really don’t want to go out in some weather, or you forgot to shower, ETC.

I’ve never done either yet, but I’d love to start out at an actual casino. You know, get the feel for it before I start going all out on online casinos and whatnot.

Online gambling is a more responsible way of gambling than going to a brick and mortar casino where there is no limit on the amount you lose, where you are encouraged to continue gambling.
