Kids in casino?

I once watched a movie wherein the whole family went to a casino to play. They brought with them their kids because they were like lucky charms whenever they gamble. In your opinion, would you allow a child to be in a casino? Does this happen in real life?

This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I love seeing websites that understand the value of providing a quality resource for free. It is the old what goes around comes around routine. Did you acquired lots of links and I see lots of trackbacks??

hmm, it’s hard to answer this question… but you know what, this occurred to me once. When my family visited Macau in Nov 2008, my youngest sister was not yet in her legal age, though she was permitted to enter by some casinos there. But if you would ask me personally, I will tag along my own kid to those kind of places. It’s best for him to learn things through me and I do think that my kid will eventually hate it :D

We have been there several times. It is a Native American Casino, and they are tight! At least in our experience. As are their comps. At least in my exp. they send out coupons to my husband and I so that they are for different times. And I might add they are not overly generous with the comps!) Meaning we can’t go and play the free money at the same time. We live 70 miles away so….thats not a good thing!  This month they sent out property credit, that you could use at the food outlets ect…......but if you used it for food you could take nothing out.  Even when we lived in Mi….Soaring Eagle didn’t care if we took home a sub using comp money. It just seems to us that Tampa HR eats your money rather quickly with not a lot of return. Of course some win, thats what keeps them hopping and they are the only game for miles around.

I live in Vegas and see too many kids in casinos. They should not be allowed.

Actually, I think Vegas should be 21+ only.

I’m 19, I was banned from a casino in my town! I can see why people want casinos 21+, but I am literally a mature, and well versed in casino games for my age. All of the gamblers/dealers love me up North where the age is 18.

I used to think it was ok, as long as the kids have something to do.  That was back when Vegas went family friendly.  Unfortunately, some folks spoiled it for everyone by over-indulging in gambling while the kids slept at the casino.  I remember seeing tv videos of kids sleeping on the steps outside casinos while the parents were inside.  Kids were also left in cars and rvs, unattended for long periods of time while the parents were zoning in front of slot machines.  Sad, but true.  Another problem is, no matter how powerful the filtration, there’s always second hand smoke.  Maturing lungs can’t handle that.  The biggest problem for kids is that alot of casinos draw in people with chronic illnesses.  Addicted gamblers often neglect their own health, and there are other folks on oxygen, etc.  The children can get pretty sick if they are in a casino very long.

No, children don’t belong in a casino.

No, I also have a kid and when I play in casino (online or in real casino), I don’t allow them to look or join on what I do, sometimes I choose to play at night where she is already asleep. One reason that runs through my mind why I don’t let her see what I’m doing is that it may influence her sooner in time. I don’t want her to gamble and spend money if she is still young. Maybe when she got in the right and legal age, I may allow her to join with me.
