Hi all:

My goal over the next 12/14 months (other than to win as much $ as possible) is to learn the rebuy tourney game.

I am planning on starting with the $1 rebuys at Ultimatebet (8pm CT) and FTP (8:35pm- this one runs every other day I think).

Quick questions for you:

1- do you always do a double buy in?
2- is a budget of 5x the buy in sufficient
3- are you aware of any other $1 rebuys? I think there is one at Absolute at 10:40pm (a bit late for a working stiff like me). Does anyone play that one?

Wish me luck on my new quest.

1. Pretty much always. I might skip it if the first hour went really badly and I was very low in the order and with little chance of making the FT. Although, I would rarely get to the addon break in that state, because I will take almost any slim chance to improve in the last few minutes before the break, and drop out without rebuying if I get busted.

At the other extreme, I will skip it if I am chipleader or close to it and already have a very large stack, so that the extra chips would not be significant to me.

2. Yes. It`s not going to be +EV to spend more than that unless (possibly) the standard of play at your table is very weak and you can have high confidence of winning your chips back from these bad players as soon as they stop sucking out on you.

Even then, you are going to be screwed if the table gets broken up.

3. My recollection is that Absolute has several $1 Rebuys at various times of the day. Unfortunately, the Tourney Schedule on their website is down right now and I can`t check.
